Thank you for your visit! I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of São Paulo, with financial support provided by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). I obtained my bachelor's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in February 2020, with distinction for my undergraduate thesis in legal studies.
In 2025, I was a Visiting Student at the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) at the University of Oxford and an Associate Member of the William Petre Society at Exeter College. The study was made possible through the generous financial support of the Santander Mobility Scholarship.
My research focuses on the phenomenon of democratic backsliding, with a particular emphasis on the measures and strategies employed by institutions in response to non-democratic actors within democratic regimes. Through a rigorous examination of these measures, I aim to identify effective strategies for maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions and processes in the face of such threats.
My academic interests include, but are not limited to, the following: militant democracy, democratic backsliding, constitutional courts, electoral governance, electoral systems, and political extremism in democratic contexts.
