Thank you for your visit! I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of São Paulo (USP). I earned my bachelor's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) in February 2020, with an honorable mention for my undergraduate thesis in legal studies. In 2025, I was a Visiting Student at the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) at the University of Oxford, supported by the Santander Mobility Scholarship.
My research focuses on the phenomenon of democratic backsliding, concentrating on measures and strategies that institutions undertake in response to non-democratic actors within democratic regimes. Through a rigorous examination of these measures, I aim to identify effective strategies for maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions and processes in the face of such threats.
My academic interests include militant democracy, democratic erosion, constitutional courts, electoral governance, electoral systems, and political extremism in democratic contexts.
